In a bright, sunny jungle lived a little giraffe named Gina.

Gina had the longest neck in the whole jungle…
but she didn’t like it at all.

Every day she looked at her reflection in the water and said,
“My neck is too long! I look so funny.”

The monkey could swing from tree to tree.

The zebra could run very quickly.

“But I can’t do anything special,” Gina sighed sadly.

One hot day, all the animals were very thirsty.
The small pond in the jungle had dried up.

The pond had dried up!

“Oh no!” cried the rabbit.
“We have no water!

Suddenly, Gina saw something shining at the top of the tallest tree.

It was a bunch of bright green leaves that looked like they were sparkling in the sunlight.

“They look magical!” Gina said.

But the tree was very tall.
Too tall for the monkey.
Too high for the zebra.
And the rabbit couldn’t reach it at all.

“Wait!” said Gina.

She slowly stretched her neck…

The wind blew gently as Gina reached the very top of the tree!

She pulled down the shiny leaves.

As soon as the animals tasted them, they felt fresh and strong again!

“These leaves have water inside them!” said the monkey happily.

“You saved us, Gina!” said the zebra.

Gina’s eyes sparkled with joy.

“My long neck is not funny… it’s magical!”

From that day on, Gina loved her long neck and always helped her friends reach things high above.
